There are moments when healing doesn’t come through words, answers, or effort.
It comes through presence (click here to see).
For me, one of those moments happened while standing alone on an ocean-side boardwalk in Riviera Maya. No agenda. No noise. Just God’s creation stretching out before me; water, sky, breeze, and breath.
That place became my happy place.
I wasn’t trying to fix anything. I wasn’t running from grief. I was simply present. And in that stillness, I felt restored. Heard. Protected. Taken care of.
Before that trip, I prayed a simple prayer:
“God, expose me to the scriptures I need to see.”
And He did; quietly, faithfully; through the Holy Spirit.
Healing met me there, not dramatically, but steadily. The ocean reminded me that God’s care is constant, even when life feels overwhelming. I left feeling grounded instead of fragile, strengthened instead of close to losing it.
Restoration doesn’t always require distance or travel; but sometimes God invites us into moments where His presence feels undeniable.
If you’re longing for healing, let yourself seek moments of stillness.
God knows how to meet you there.

This is for the person who is grieving quietly, carrying trauma, or healing from losses that were never fully spoken. I remember the moment when my own world collapsed; losing loved ones back-to-back, losing the home I shared memories in with my father, losing stability, and losing pieces of myself I didn’t know how to recover. What I didn’t know then was that writing, music, faith, and therapy would become the pathway God used to rebuild me from the inside out. That’s why I created The Quiet Cry Project; a safe place for weary hearts to breathe, feel, and be restored. Your next gentle step is simply to enter this space and receive the comfort God has for you. - Sheila
