Rainbows have always given me hope.
They bring a deep sense of relief; like God has made a special arrangement just for me to look up and remember who He is. When I see a rainbow, my heart fills with excitement and awe, not because life suddenly becomes easy, but because God feels unmistakably near.
Scripture tells us that rainbows are not random. In Genesis 9, God uses the rainbow as a sign of His covenant; His promise to remember mercy. And in Ezekiel 1, the rainbow appears again, surrounding God’s glory, reminding us that His presence is powerful, intentional, and alive.
In April 2025, while in New York City, I captured a rainbow that stopped both me and my friend in our tracks. We didn’t know we needed that moment, but there it was; stretching across the sky, inviting us into wonder. For a few minutes, we were like little girls again: amazed, encouraged, and full of hope.
That rainbow didn’t erase future challenges.
But it strengthened us to face them.
It reminded us that God is working with us and for us.
And sometimes, hope shows up exactly where you are; painted across the sky.

This is for the person who is grieving quietly, carrying trauma, or healing from losses that were never fully spoken. I remember the moment when my own world collapsed; losing loved ones back-to-back, losing the home I shared memories in with my father, losing stability, and losing pieces of myself I didn’t know how to recover. What I didn’t know then was that writing, music, faith, and therapy would become the pathway God used to rebuild me from the inside out. That’s why I created The Quiet Cry Project; a safe place for weary hearts to breathe, feel, and be restored. Your next gentle step is simply to enter this space and receive the comfort God has for you. - Sheila
